In a fragmented and divided world, where relationships are becoming more shallow, the gift of empathy and understanding is truly remarkable. Christmas holds deep relational significance as we celebrate the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. He "enters into" our suffering world, embodying God's love. This incarnation echoes the angelic hosts of the first Christmas: Emmanuel! God is with us. God himself has taken up our cause! We are able to affirm our humanity because God himself has affirmed it. We are known, because we are known by him. God enters into our world when we enter His. 

The message of Christmas is simple but so profound and mysterious:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

This is the gift of Christmas.
